Nightmarket Ayutthaya [Nov. 30th, 2009|08:24 am]

We're back home again from our trip to Thailand and we are still overwhelmed by everything that we experienced. There are so many stories to tell, half of them are already forgotten, probably, because we've seen so much.

From Berlin we flew to Bangkok with overlay in Istanbul and stayed in Bangkok for the first two nights. There we went to two travel agencies and booked hotels and transport for the next few days. From Bangkok we went to Ayutthaya which was the capital of Thailand (then called Siam) until the late 18th century. It was destroyed by the Burmese but large ruins of old temples and palaces are still there and show what a great city this must have been in the old days.
